Policing and Military

Moxistan doesn't have a formal military but does have a defense force for external defense. It consists entirely of a voluntarily recruited people. Moxistan does not employ conscription due to the common belief among its people that any country that relies on it reflects lack of people's faith in the country or using authoritarian measures to cover weakness. Moxistan instead offers benefits for joining the defense force with no term requirements. Instead, soldiers are only required to commit to service for a couple months at a time. Military training is also available to all civilians with no requirement to service.

Moxistan also doesn't have a traditional policing system. Instead, Moxistan has local defense agencies that are employed for executive purposes. How these differ from police is that people working in local defense agencies have no elevated legal rights like police do. Defense agents are tried as normal citizens in any situation force is used against a perpetrator and vice versa. This is to encourage violent force being used only when necessary and give citizens ability to defend themselves against unjust state violence.

Firearms and weapons are permitted for civilian ownership after receiving training in Moxistan to encourage defense against external threats and self-defense. People that complete this training also receive a free gun.
